Returning after 3 years is the wonderfully eclectic Art in Brownshill. To be included in the exhibition you must live in Brownshill (or be invited), and this sees amateurs exhibiting alongside seasoned professional artists. It is a whole village event with volunteers cleaning the church and helping with the set up beforehand, helping with the stewarding and more. Opening night on Friday is a village party and the exhibition continues from Saturday 12th July to Sunday 20th July, 10.30 to 5pm.

This years contributors include printmakers, painters, sculptors and mosaic and ceramics, with music from 2 local musicians. One resident has made an art form out of the things he has found whilst metal detecting, connecting his finds with local history. Two artists are going to make a temporary, site specific sculpture out of the hazel they coppiced earlier in the year, the hazel being repurposed as bean sticks next year.

The star of the show, as always, is the church itself and the beautiful setting it is in.
